Coronavirus, is it the end of the world?

The Covid-19 is not the end of the world. Coronavirus outbreaks have happened before: SARS-CoV in 2002 and MERS-CoV in 2012. The former had a crude mortality ratio of about 7%, and the latter of about 33%, and both were contained within a few months. The current crude mortality ratio (the number of reported deaths divided by the reported cases) is between 3-4%.
